The Microsoft Expression Web has its own standards-based rendering engine which is dissimilar from the Internet Explorer’s Trident engine. Validation controls for ASP.NET is supported by Expression Web, but does not support form validation controls for HTML fields. Expression Web provides standard Windows color scheme, automatic language tagging, spell check, customizable toolbars and menus, basic macro support, file menu export feature, DLL add-ins, and drag-and-drop capability between remote sites. Later version of Expression Web has added SEO checker, access to a web-based SuperPreview functionality, and HTML add-ins, and began supporting JQuery IntelliSense. Other added features includes Interactive Snapshot Panel, snippets managing panel, and comment/uncomment capability.
The Microsoft Expression Web is available in multiple common languages aside from English, and is compatible with Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and with Windows Server 2008 operating systems.
