Microsoft Expression Blend
What is Microsoft Expression Blend?
Microsoft Expression Blend is a program that primarily functions as a design utility for building user interfaces for applications that run on the Web and on the computer. The graphical user interface developed combines the elements of both Web and desktop applications.
The software allows the user to build graphical interfaces using the Extensible Application Markup Language, for Windows Presentation Foundation, a Microsoft program that is used to build user interfaces for applications that run on Windows systems; and Silverlight, also a Microsoft program, that provides the user with an application framework for developing RIAs (Rich Internet Application).
Microsoft Expression Blend is part of the Microsoft Expression suite of software programs, which also includes Expression Studio, Expression Design Expression Web, Expression Encoder, SuperView and SketchFlow.
Expression Blend is now offered as part of the Visual Studio 2012 software, and it is known as Blend for Visual Studio 2012. The software still has the same functions as the previous version, enabling the user to create and edit applications for Windows Presentation Foundation and Silverlight. A preview version of Blend for Visual Studio 2012 is available for download at the Microsoft website.
