If you are looking for Mathcad, you have come to the right place. We explain what Mathcad is and point you to the official download.

What is Mathcad?

Mathsoft Mathcad is a software program that is generally used for mathematical calculations and visual renditions of mathematical equations in the field of Engineering. The software was originally developed and distributed by Mathsoft, but the company was acquired in 2006 by Parametic Technology Corporation; and it is now the PTC, or Parametric Technology Corporation, that develops and distributes the software.

What the software program does is to provide Engineering professionals with a wide variety of tools for the computation of mathematical equations related to engineering processes. It enables the user to create worksheets that may include a combination of mathematical elements in numeric and symbolic renditions, as well as texts.

Briefly, the program allows engineers and scientists to use the various tools provided in the software for analyses of data and statistics, solve ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations, create 2D and 3D plots, and processing of images and signals.

In addition, the software program also allows for importing and exporting of data to and from Microsoft Excel. Mathcad Prime 2.0 is the latest release of the software, launched in the first quarter of 2012.
