What is Mastercam?
Mastercam is a CAD tool that was originally a 2D CAM system and is primarily used by machinists and engineers in designing virtual parts using the computer. It also functions as a CNC or a Computer Numerical Controlled tools in the main manufacturing of the designed parts. From being a 2D system, it has now been expanded to be used in several CAD functions.
The Mastercam software is also equipped with a complete set of tool paths that are already pre-defined to provide aide in designing face, contours, drills, engraving as well as other tools that are mainly used in cut parts with accuracy. The software also allows machinists to customize designed using the advanced tools that are integrated in the system.
Mastercam can also be integrated with C-hooks, a 3rd part application that is used for specific design requirements. As a computer-aided manufacturing tool, it features an advanced tool control capabilities that also include a tracker that can be used to monitor the changes and movement of any mechanically operated tool.
Mastercam also comes with digital documentation and is produced by CNC Software.
