What is DesignCAD Express?
IMSI Design’s DesignCAD Express software was part of its DesignCAD line of products. The Express edition was geared towards architectural and construction-related CAD projects in particular, with tools like door and window insertion promoting the creation of floor and structural layouts. It supported multiple levels of detail for the ultimate in image quality and precision, and was also equipped with tools for creating precise arcs and curves as well as angles. It also supported multi-layered drawings as well as auto-dimensioning. Furthermore, users were able to configure the workspace’s layout to meet their preferences.
The software being what it was, it naturally had utilities for labeling drawing parts and sections too. Users had access to several predesigned symbols for that purpose as well. It also allowed users to scan their work and import it into the program, and it had tools for calculating area within drawings. Users had access to several styles for their drafting lines too.
The software has since been retired, being replaced by other DesignCAD tools from IMSI. The programs replacing it include DesignCAD 3D Max, DesignCAD 23, and the Plus versions of DesignCAD 3D Max.
