What is ChessBase?
ChessBase is a software program that contains a huge database of some of the world’s most historic and best chess games every played. Chess players of all ages and levels, whether amateurs or professionals, utilize the program to analyze games, learn a few tips and tricks, and basically to improve their game plays.
The program can be easily manipulated so that the user can replay games using a different search criterion every time. The games can also be edited in a way that will give the user another look of the games at a different angle, for better analysis of moves; thereby enabling them to learn new moves that they would not have otherwise taken.
The software therefore, is generally utilized to learn how to play chess, especially in preparation for upcoming chess tournaments.
The software was developed by ChessBase GmbH, a company that is based in Germany. The software is part of the ChessBase suite of chess-based products, such as Fritz, Rybka, Hiarcs, Junior and Shredder; which are all chess games; as well as tutorial programs that cover all parts of the game, from start to finish; and lessons on attack and defense strategies.
