Autodesk Inventor View
What is Autodesk Inventor View?
The Autodesk Inventor View is, in some senses, the client-end software for Autodesk Inventor. Autodesk Inventor is in itself a 3D modeling program often used to produce digital prototypes of various designs. It allows users to invent (as suggested by its name) products or objects, put them to test in virtual simulations, and finalize their drafts in a digital environment. However, while it can export prototype designs in common file formats; it also uses several particular file formats for specific objects. For instance, it saves parts in the IPT format and assemblies with the IAM extension. Users without Autodesk may not always have modeling programs compatible with these file types, even if they only want to view the files: when this is the case and no actual editing is required, Autodesk Inventor View will suffice.
Inventor View is thus a non-editing program designed purely for viewing and printing files from the Autodesk Inventor View. It is available for free from Autodesk. Since it has a restricted number of purposes, its interface is naturally on the bare side, providing only tools for opening, printing, and changing view modes of files that have been opened with it.
