What is a VPM file?

Garmin Voice Processing Module

Garmin personal GPS devices most commonly use the .vpm file extension for their data files. These files contain the voices used by the Garmin GPS. The GPS files contain the voice data for the different speech styles used by the device, such as American English. The GPS files are used to define sound alerts and how the navigation system gives directions while a user is driving.

How to open VPM files

Important: Different programs may use files with the VPM file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your VPM file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
