What are VIEW files and how to open them

What is a VIEW file?
A .VIEW file is a GOM 3D Single View file.
GOM 3D Single View files, also referred to as ".VIEW" files, are a file format used to store data from one view of a 3D scan. This type of file is widely used in metrology and inspection applications to create and store views of an object for measurement and analysis.
The ".VIEW" format, created by GOM as part of their platform of software and hardware for 3D scanning, inspection, and testing, stores information concerning the location, form, and attributes of every point to provide precise reproduction of the given view with their software.
One of the key benefits of the ".VIEW" format is its ability to store a single view of a 3D scan, meaning that it only stores the necessary data for that specific view, this allows for a more efficient storage and management of large scans.
