What are VFS files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a VFS file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your VFS files.
What is a VFS file?
A .VFS file is a Gnome Virtual File System file.
Files that contain the .vfs file extension are most commonly associated with virtual file systems. In the case of Gnome Virtual File System, aka GnomeVFS, it is a file system abstraction layer that sits between applications and real file systems like Windows NTFS, digital cameras, or WebDAV.
Using a virtual file system gives developers access to a range of otherwise incompatible file systems using a unified interface.
