What is a TXD file?

Renderware TeXture Dictionary Image File
These files are game texture dictionary files. They contain small bitmap images that create an archive of different textures that can be used within an associated game that was built using the Renderware 3D engine.
TXD files can also be mapped onto 3D objects to change their appearance. Grand Theft Auto and Tony Hawk's American Wasteland are just two popular games that use the TXD file format.
