What are TEMP files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a TEMP file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your TEMP files.
What is a TEMP file?
Files that contain the .temp file extension are used by a variety of different computer applications. These files usually contain temporary data and are created for many different purposes.
TEMP files are most commonly created when a computer application cannot allocate adequate memory to complete the tasks that it needs to perform. TEMP files are often created during the auto-save process and for software lock files, cache files and backup files. The TEMP file format is very similar to the BAK and TMP file formats.
Oftentimes an application will automatically delete a TEMP file after it is no longer needed.
