What is a TCX file?
A .TCX file is a Garmin Training Center Database XML file.
The .tcx file extension is used for a proprietary database data file format developed by Garmin Ltd., also known as Garmin XML database files. The Garmin Training Center software generates these TCX files. This is a Windows and Mac OS X program that allows users to log their fitness and exercise activities for more convenient tracking purposes.
These TCX files are XML formatted data files used to export and import fitness and exercise logs between Garmin Training Center programs in different computers and Garmin devices. There are two versions of the TCX file format, namely TCX1 and TCX2. Recent versions of the Garmin Training Center software have support for both TCX file format versions.
