TARGET File
What are TARGET files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a TARGET file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your TARGET files.
What is a TARGET file?
Files that contain the .target file extension usually contain development files that have been included with the MSBuild platform for the Microsoft Visual Studio software application. The Microsoft Visual Studio software is used to develop console and graphical user interface applications. The program offers a complete set of development tools for creating ASP.NET Web applications.
The TARGET files that are used by the Microsoft Visual Studio software contain properties, tasks, items and targets for a variety of popular programming scenarios. These common programming scenarios can then be imported into the Visual Studio projects by importing the .targets file to the Visual Studio project that is in progress.
How to open TARGET files
Important: Different programs may use files with the TARGET file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your TARGET file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
We have not yet verified any programs for Windows that work with this specific file format. If you know one, please use the 'Suggest a program' link below. Thanks!
