What is a STX file?
The .stx file extension is most commonly used with the Pinnacle Studio video editing program. The STX files are project files that are created with the software. These files contain the project settings of the video as well as references to other media and data files that are used by the Pinnacle Studio project.
The .stx file extension is also used for CA-Simply Tax tax form files, SmarText electronic book files, SPOT Image statistics files, Terrasoft SAS data files, ArcView statistics files and Eschalon setup install script files.
How to open STX files
Important: Different programs may use files with the STX file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your STX file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
