SMC File
What are SMC files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a SMC file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your SMC files.
What is a SMC file?
A .SMC file is a Super Nintendo ROM Image file.
Files that contain the SMC file extension are normally associated with Nintendo's Super Nintendo gaming system (SNES).
The SMC files contain digital copies of the games that were originally contained within an original SNES game cartridge.
The SMC files that contain these game copies allow the SNES games to be played on a personal computer using a software Super Nintendo emulator.
Please be aware that in most cases, the games contained in an SMC file are copyrighted so it may be illegal to distribute these files.
