SKB File
What are SKB files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a SKB file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your SKB files.
What is a SKB file?
Files that contain the .skb file extension are most commonly associated with the Google SketchUp software application. The SKB files that are used by Google SketchUp contain backup files of 3-D models that have been created with the SketchUp software.
When the SketchUp software application creates a back-up copy of a file using the program's auto-save feature, the backup file is given the .skb extension. The .skp extension is the extension given to the original copy of the Google SketchUp file. The SKB files allow a user to restore an SKP file if the original SKP file becomes lost, corrupt or accidentally deleted.

Important: Different programs may use files with the SKB file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your SKB file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
