Are you having problems opening a SFCACHE file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your SFCACHE files.

What is a SFCACHE file?

Files that contain the .sfcache file extension are created by the ReadyBoost feature that is included with the Windows Vista operating system.

Vista's ReadyBoost feature allows a user to plug a USB flash device into a USB port as a cache or virtual memory drive. This allows for faster caching and enhances the performance of a user's computer and reduces the problems that are commonly associated with limited computer memory.

The SFCACHE files are the cache files that are written to the added drive by the ReadyBoost application. SFCACHE files are active files, so they should not be disturbed when running on a system.
