Opening SDX files

Did your computer fail to open a SDX file? We explain what SDX files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your SDX files.

What is a SDX file?

The .sdx file extension is used for a digital audio file format, which is generated by a number of audio editing and music authoring tools. Also known as sample sound files, these SDX files are saved in 8 or 32-bit mono sound formats. These .sdx files contain digital audio clips and formatting attributes that were applied during the creation of the sample sound file.

These SDX files may also contain metadata details that are associated with the software and hardware tools used to create the sample sound file. Digital instruments like drum machines and musical keyboards can be used with certain software products that have support for the .sdx file format. These hardware tools are normally connected to an interface that is attached to the computer where the software is installed.

The Awave Studio software can be used to open and view the audio data that is stored in these .sdx sample sound files. This is a program that was designed by FJM-Software for Windows PCs. This software can also be used to edit the content of these SDX files.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
