What is a RW2 file?

A .RW2 file is a Panasonic RAW Image file.

The .rw2 file extension is used for a digital image format called Panasonic RAW Image, which Panasonic Corporation developed for one of their digital camera product lines. These RW2 files are also known as Panasonic Lumix RAW image files, as they a created by Panasonic Lumix digital cameras.

These RW2 files contain unprocessed digital images that have been captured through a Panasonic Lumix digital camera, and many standard image editing applications and graphics design authoring tools may not be able to open and edit them. In that case, you need to convert the RW2 files to more common image file formats like JPG first.
