What is a RGSSAD file?
A .RGSSAD file is a RPG Maker VX Encrypted Archive file.
The .rgssad file extension is commonly found in in-game files made using RPG Maker or, more specifically, the VX version of the series. RGSSAD is an encrypted archive file in a binary format created by RPG Maker VX. It also contains the visual data and graphic files for the game.
RGSSAD is very similar to another RPG Maker file type- the RGSS2A, except that in RGSSAD doesn't have any audio file included in it. RGSSAD is usually encrypted by the program to protect original game material before finalizing it as an end-user application.
RPG Maker VX is a Japanese role-playing game editor for Microsoft Windows that allows users to create computer role-playing games. It is developed by a Japanese video game publisher, Enterbrain. The software is being continuously developed and is currently superseded by RPG Maker VX Ace. RGSSAD and RGSS2A files are used by RPG Maker VX, whereas RPG Maker VX Ace only uses the RGSS3A file extension.
