What is a RFT file?

Autodesk Revit Family Template File

Autodesk Revit Family Templates are custom files used to create pre-defined building components. The ".RFT" format contains all required parameters and properties needed to define the behavior and appearance of a Revit family.

Using Autodesk Revit, users can craft their own .RFT files with the included family editor. This tool provides access to various elements which determine a family's dynamics, from visual design options like 3D shapes, colors, or materials to adjustments for performance such as structural load capacity or energy efficiency rating.
