What is a PK2 file?
PK2 files have multiple uses, and PICkit 2 Firmware is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.

How to open PK2 files
Important: Different programs may use files with the PK2 file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your PK2 file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested three different PK2 openers which you will find listed below.

While PICkit 2 Firmware is a popular type of PK2-file, we know of 2 different uses of the .PK2 file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.
PTC Creo 3D Model
We know that one PK2 format is PTC Creo 3D Model. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
