Opening NB files

Did your computer fail to open a NB file? We explain what NB files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your NB files.

What is a NB file?

NB stands for notebook. By that, the .nb files are literally, notebook files. These files are commonly in line with software named Mathematica and can be exported to many different file formats. NB files can be converted into spreadsheet formats, raster graphics or GIS.

Mathematica is an application created to support users, especially for students and scientists in scientific and mathematical computations and analysis. The application allows the user to view an interactive document, the results of the computation and analysis processed. An interactive document usually consists of interactive user interface elements, pictures, text and its values, sounds and audio, and various functions. These interactive documents are also saved in .nb file format.

Notebook files are very much similar with spreadsheets in regards to its columns and rows. The data are allocated on cells and connected to each other depending on the interactive document being derived. Wolfram Research Mathematica, Wolfram Research CDF Player and any text editor can be used to open .nb files.
