What is a MDB file?
MDB stands for Microsoft Database. Files that contain the .mdb file extension are created by the Microsoft Access database application. These files contain database structures and entries. MDB files allow for the creation of data entry forms, database queries, stored procedures, reports and security settings.
Microsoft Access is included with some of the Microsoft Office product packages and is only available for the Windows operating systems.
The .mdb file extension is only used by versions of Microsoft Access that were released prior to the 2007 release. Later versions of Microsoft Access use the .accdb file extension instead of the .mdb extension.
