LZHAM File
What are LZHAM files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a LZHAM file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your LZHAM files.
What is a LZHAM file?
A .LZHAM file is a LZHAM Compressed Data file.
Rich Geldreich developed the LZHAM algorithm, a lossless data compression method that boasts high compression ratios along with a speedy decompression speed, ideal for real-time applications or video games.
Compressed with the LZHAM algorithm, .lzham files are data files that are designed to save space while enabling fast and reliable decompression when needed.
Examples of data that could be stored in .lzham files include game assets like textures, models, and sounds; software installation files; and massive datasets that must be stored and transferred efficiently.
Files compressed with the .lzham format can be created and decompressed using software that leverages the LZHAM algorithm, like lzhamcomp, an open source program. These files can also be opened with the LZHAM library, a C++ library built to handle this algorithm.
How to open LZHAM files
Important: Different programs may use files with the LZHAM file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your LZHAM file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
We have not yet verified any programs for Windows that work with this specific file format. If you know one, please use the 'Suggest a program' link below. Thanks!
