LPK File
What are LPK files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a LPK file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your LPK files.
What is a LPK file?
LPK files have multiple uses, and Lazarus Package is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Lazarus Package
Lazarus Packages are a convenient file format for coders. It helps them package and distribute components, libraries or units for use in their Lazarus based software projects. LPK files contain component details, library specifications, and metadata about the package.
This information is used by the Lazarus IDE to manage the composition of a package plus ensure its components and libraries can be accessed from specific projects.
Sharing these packages and their content simplifies coding efforts. A coder may reuse other's code instead of rewriting everything from scratch each time they need new functions.
LPK files provide coders with an effortless way to roll out components and libraries to other coders as well as allowing project access even when key parts or units are elsewhere or missing.
