What are LOG2 files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a LOG2 file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your LOG2 files.
What is a LOG2 file?
Files that contain the .log2 file extension usually hold Windows registry log file information. These files are created by the Windows registry during the Windows installation process.
LOG2 files are usually saved as hidden windows files and will normally contain trace information as a part of the Windows registry hive. These files store information about changes that have been made to the Windows registry.
When changes are made to the Windows registry, new log files may be created. Each new file will be given its own extension in sequence. The .log2 extension is normally assigned to the log files when the .log and .log1 extensions are already being used to store different information.
