Opening LDF files

Did your computer fail to open a LDF file? We explain what LDF files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your LDF files.

What is a LDF file?

The .ldf file extension is most commonly used by Microsoft SQL servers. The LDF files contain a server log file that records a list of server events. These files are automatically created and updated by the associated server application.

The .ldf file extension is also used for IBM Works for OS/2 data filer form files, Geoworks library definition files, LuraDocument image format files, ProWORX Nxt logic data files and Mincom LinkOne files.

Try a universal file viewer

In addition to the products listed above, I would suggest that you try a universal file viewer like Free File Viewer. It can open over 200 different types of files - and very likely yours too! Download Free File Viewer.
