KMZ File
What are KMZ files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a KMZ file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your KMZ files.
What is a KMZ file?
A .KMZ file is a Google Earth saved session file.
KMZ files are KML files that have been compressed or "zipped" for easier download and distribution. Files with the .kmz extension store the locations of the maps that are used by the Google Earth mapping application.
Sometimes a KMZ file will include 3D model data that has been exported from an SKP file. When this happens, the model is placed on the map to give users an idea of what the building will look like in that specific area.
The Google Earth application is a mapping application that offers users a bird's-eye view of recorded locations across the globe.
