What are JED files and how to open them

What is a JED file?
JED files have multiple uses, and CUPL Format is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.

How to open JED files
Important: Different programs may use files with the JED file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your JED file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested two different JED openers which you will find listed below.

While CUPL Format is a popular type of JED-file, we know of 3 different uses of the .JED file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.
PALASM Compiled Program Definition
We know that one JED format is PALASM Compiled Program Definition. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
Xilinx JEDEC Programming Spec
We know that one JED format is Xilinx JEDEC Programming Spec. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
