What are IPD files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening an IPD file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your IPD files.
What is an IPD file?
An .IPD file is a BlackBerry Backup file.
These files are backups of the data that you have stored on your BlackBerry mobile device. They are created when your BlackBerry device is backed up to your computer.
IPD files can store data about your user address book, emails, SMS messages, and other BlackBerry information depending on which files you choose to back up when syncing your device with your computer.
Research In Motion Limited created the IPD file format for backup and restore purposes to prevent BlackBerry users from losing their essential information should their BlackBerry become lost or damaged.
