Opening GHS files

Did your computer fail to open a GHS file? We explain what GHS files are and recommend software that we know can open or convert your GHS files.

What is a GHS file?

Files that contain the .ghs file extension are most commonly used by the Norton Ghost backup and recovery software application.

The GHS files that are used by this program contain a segment of a disk image that was created as a backup with the Norton Ghost software. The backups that are created by the Norton Ghost program may span over a variety of GHS files, with each of the files being named in sequence. For example, the files for a backup session may be named filename001.ghs, filename002.ghs, etc.

The LaserTank gaming software has also been known to use the .ghs file suffix. These GHS files contain high score files for the gaming program.
