FX File - opening and understanding

What is a FX file?
Files that contain the .fx file extension are most commonly associated with the Microsoft DirectX software application. Microsoft DirectX is a collection of application programming interfaces.
The FX files that are associated with this software are effects files that are created for the Direct3D component of Microsoft DirectX program. These files contain the plain text effects and properties for the associated file and are used to specify the textures, shading, rendering, lighting and other 3D effects.
The FastLynx software application is also known to use the .fx file suffix. These FX files contain the online guide files that are referenced by the software program.
How to open FX files
You will need a program compatible with the specific file you are trying to open, as different programs may use files with file extension FX for different purposes.
