What is a FX file?
Files that contain the .fx file extension are most commonly associated with the Microsoft DirectX software application. Microsoft DirectX is a collection of application programming interfaces.
The FX files that are associated with this software are effects files that are created for the Direct3D component of Microsoft DirectX program. These files contain the plain text effects and properties for the associated file and are used to specify the textures, shading, rendering, lighting and other 3D effects.
The FastLynx software application is also known to use the .fx file suffix. These FX files contain the online guide files that are referenced by the software program.
Suggest another file format using extension FX
While we know of one file format using the .FX file extension, there may be more. It is widespread that different programs use files with the same file extension for very different types of data. Please let us know if you are aware of a different kind of .FX file.
