What are FORM files and how to open them

How to open FORM files

Important: Different programs may use files with the FORM file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your FORM file is, you may need to try a few different programs.

While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested four different FORM openers which you will find listed below.

While FormLabs PreForm Job is a popular type of FORM-file, we know of 3 different uses of the .FORM file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.

Gambas Form File

These FORM files contain the projects created in Gambas, a software used to replace Visual Basics on Linux.

You can create programs in Gambas, and it makes use of object-oriented programming. Gambas is used to create graphical programs using Qt and GTK toolkits.

PreForm 3D Object Container

We know that one FORM format is PreForm 3D Object Container. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
