What is a FLI file?

FLI files have multiple uses, and Autodesk Animator is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.

Autodesk Animator

These FLI files contain the animations created in Autodesk Animator, a software designed to create 3D animations. You can create and save worlds for maps, render high-quality architectural visualizations, model interiors and objects, and animations with life-like features.

How to open FLI files

Important: Different programs may use files with the FLI file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your FLI file is, you may need to try a few different programs.

Flexible Line Interpretation bitmap

These FLI files contain the images used on the Commodore 64, a popular home computer that was released in 1982. These files are accessed by computers that use a VIC graphics chip. You can use hacks to transcend the limitations of the images' standard graphics modes.

FLIC FLI Video

We know that one FLI format is FLIC FLI Video. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.

FLI opener for Windows

We have identified one FLI opener that is compatible with this specific type of FLI file.
