Garmin Flexible and Interoperable Data Transfer File

The .fit file extension is used for a data file format developed by Garmin Ltd. FIT is short for Flexible and Interoperable Data Transfer. These files are generated as activity files by the Garmin Training Center software, which allows users to monitor their physical activities and exercises like cycling, swimming, and other workout sessions.

These .fit files contain logged data like date and time stamps, activity details, and other pieces of information related to the physical exercises of the user. They can be created and edited using the Garmin Training Center software for Windows PCs or Mac OS X computers. The data stored in these FIT files can also be viewed through the user interface of this software.
