What are FDD files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a FDD file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your FDD files.
What is a FDD file?
FDD files have multiple uses, and FlexiDATA Database is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
FlexiDATA Database
These FDD files contain the databases created in FlexiData, a program that enables you to create databases. You can design questionnaires, databases and interrogate the data to set up graphs and charts. You set up questionnaires and surveys to collect data for your database.
How to open FDD files
Important: Different programs may use files with the FDD file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your FDD file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested seven different FDD openers which you will find listed below.

While FlexiDATA Database is a popular type of FDD-file, we know of 3 different uses of the .FDD file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.
FormDocs document
These FDD files contain the forms created in FormDocs, a software that helps you create, fill, and organize your forms. You scan and convert your paper forms into digital copies to allow you to edit and fill them in on your computer. You can also design your own custom form. These forms include quotations, home inspections, invoices, and even incident report forms.
Virtual Floppy Disk Image
We know that one FDD format is Virtual Floppy Disk Image. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.

These apps are known to open certain types of FDD files. Remember, different programs may use FDD files for different purposes, so you may need to try out a few of them to be able to open your specific file.
