What are FCP files and how to open them

What is a FCP file?
FCP files have multiple uses, and Final Cut project is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Final Cut project
These FCP files are separate files that consist of a project file, a media source file, rendering files, and a cache file. These files are used in Final Cut Pro, a video editing software. You can log and transfer video files onto a hard drive to edit, process, and output it to a wide variety of formats.
How to open FCP files
Important: Different programs may use files with the FCP file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your FCP file is, you may need to try a few different programs.

While Final Cut project is a popular type of FCP-file, we know of 3 different uses of the .FCP file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.
FineCrypt Encrypted Data
These FCP files contain the encrypted files created in SecureTask, a encryption software used to secure your data. You can automatically encrypt your files, create encrypted ZIP archives, permanently delete files, and archive files on your hard disk.
We know that one FCP format is FontCreator Project. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
