What are EMZ files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening an EMZ file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your EMZ files.
What is an EMZ file?
The files that contain the .emz file extension are files that store compressed image files. These files are commonly referred to as Windows Compressed Enhanced Metafiles and they are used by a variety of different Microsoft applications.
An EMZ file is actually a compressed version of a Microsoft EMF file. This allows for easier distribution of the file online. When an EMF file is compressed using the .GZIP compression algorithm, it is then given the .emz file extension.
One the EMZ file has been uncompressed, the file's file extension normally reverts back to the standard .emf (enhanced metafile) file extension.
