What is a DMX file?

DMX files have multiple uses, and Data Model eXchange encoding format is one of them.

.dmx files contain data model objects encoded in binary or ASCII format for use with the Valve Software game SDK. The .dmx files are the encoded file format of various types of data, including objects, character models, maps, etc., used in first-person shooter games.

How to open DMX files

Important: Different programs may use files with the DMX file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your DMX file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
