What is a DCF file?
DCF files have multiple uses, and DRM Content Format is one of them. Read more about the others further down the page.
DRM Content Format File
DCF files are media files that have been encoded with Digital Rights Management copy protection technology. Cell phones often use this technology to save ringtones, videos, pictures, and other playable media that have been copy-protected. Nokia was one of the first cell phone companies to use the DCF file format.
The DCF file format is similar to the DM file format. However, with the DCF file format, the rights object is located in a separate file, not within the DCF file itself.
