CYPRJ File

What are CYPRJ files and how to open them

Are you having problems opening a CYPRJ file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your CYPRJ files.

What is a CYPRJ file?

A .CYPRJ file is a Cypress PSoC Creator Project file.

Cypress PSoC Creator Project files store the full configuration and settings for a microcontroller firmware project in the PSoC Creator IDE. They capture which hardware components are selected in the design, how those components are configured (pins, clocks, schedules, interrupts), the device platform, the build settings, which source and header files are included in the project, and metadata such as project GUIDs and version history.

These project files are written and maintained by PSoC Creator. When a new Design or Library project is started, the IDE creates the necessary directory structure (for example a folder whose name ends with .cydsn or .cylib), sets up a top-level schematic and source code placeholders, then populates this project file with settings chosen by the user. The project file is edited by the IDE itself during design-time and build operations, not meant for manual editing.

Internally, the project file is XML-based. It begins with an "<?xml version=\"1.0\"" header and includes a MACHINE GENERATED warning. It contains tags identifying project management models such as CYDESIGNER.COMMON.PROJMGMT.MODEL.CYPRJMGMTBASECONTAINER and CYDESIGNER.COMMON.PROJMGMT.MODEL.CYPRJMGMTPROJECTPSOC. It also contains various GUIDs labeled TYPE_NAME, settings like PROJECT_CURRENT_PLATFORM, XML_CONTENTS_VERSION, BUILD_ACTION, DEPENDENCIES, SOURCE FILES, and other structured metadata.
