What are CUBE files and how to open them

What is a CUBE file?
CUBE files have multiple uses, and Cube LUT format is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Cube LUT format
These CUBE files describe look-up tables, which are a way to change the color of an image's color representation from one color to another.
How to open CUBE files
Important: Different programs may use files with the CUBE file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your CUBE file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested four different CUBE openers which you will find listed below.

While Cube LUT format is a popular type of CUBE-file, we know of 2 different uses of the .CUBE file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.
Gaussian Cube Data
We know that one CUBE format is Gaussian Cube Data. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
