What are CUB files and how to open them

What is a CUB file?
CUB files have multiple uses, and Isis Cube data is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
Isis Cube data
These CUB files contain the labels and pixel data used for the Isis Cube, a conceptual file structure for a cube.
Each pixel contains physical properties like radiance, reflectance, and elevations.
How to open CUB files
Important: Different programs may use files with the CUB file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your CUB file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested six different CUB openers which you will find listed below.

While Isis Cube data is a popular type of CUB-file, we know of 2 different uses of the .CUB file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.
SeeYou Airspace
We know that one CUB format is SeeYou Airspace. We have not yet analyzed in detail what these files contain and what they are used for. We're working on it.
