What is a CLMOV file?

A .CLMOV file is a Clan Lord Movie - Visiostone file.

Clan Lord is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game made by Delta Tao Software; the film-like "Movie - Visiostone" format is used by that game to store short cinematic or visual‐animation sequences as part of its client content. These files serve to display scripted visual scenes within the game world, such as story cutscenes, location intros, or lore animations rendered by the Clan Lord client.

These files are created by the Clan Lord software distributed by Delta Tao Software and are rendered by the same client during gameplay. The Visiostone format is proprietary, and ordinary video players or editors cannot interpret or edit these files properly. Users generally see these sequences when launching special areas of the game or as part of narrative content defined by the game developers.

Files of this format begin with a byte signature of 0xDEADBEEF at file offset zero and again at offset 24. This signature, reported by the TRiD data analysis tool, confirms that a file is indeed in the Clan Lord Movie ­ - Visiostone format.

How to open CLMOV files

Important: Different programs may use files with the CLMOV file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your CLMOV file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
