CGP File
What are CGP files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a CGP file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your CGP files.
What is a CGP file?
CGP files have multiple uses, and DVDFab Change Graphic Picture is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
DVDFab Change Graphic Picture
These CGP files contain graphics shown to indicate a disk change during the copy mode in DVDFab, a software used for the copying, burning, ripping, cloning, and authoring of DVDs. With the default CGP, you can replace the titles that are not being copied with a Black Screen or FabCom.
How to open CGP files
Important: Different programs may use files with the CGP file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your CGP file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested four different CGP openers which you will find listed below.

All known file formats using extension .CGP
While DVDFab Change Graphic Picture is a popular type of CGP-file, we know of 3 different uses of the .CGP file extension. Different software may use files with the same extension for different types of data.
NetCaptor's CaptorGroup
These CGP files contain lists of websites used on CaptorGroup, a group of favorite websites that can be opened at once on NetCaptor, an Internet Explorer shell in development from 1997 to 2005. The CGP files allow you to view the multiple sites that you saved to a group, all at once.
Xilinx Core Generator System Project
Xilinx Core Generator System Project files store configuration settings for the Core Generator tool when designing a reusable IP core. They are produced by Xilinx's CORE Generator software (part of the ISE Design Suite and used with System Generator for DSP) to record how the core should be built - which FPGA device family, which HDL (VHDL or Verilog), supply speed grade, package, simulation settings, vendor flow, bus formatting, whether trimming ("tripping") is enabled or not, and other options. These settings are then used along with a core description file (.XCO) to produce simulation models, netlist outputs, and implementation artifacts.
The tool that creates these files is CORE Generator. Designers start a new project in CORE Generator, specify all parameters, and then save the project which writes out the CGP file. Later, tools like CORE Generator or migration scripts use the CGP file to re-create or recover the core description file (.XCO), apply project-wide options, and ensure core generation is consistent. CGP files are plain text and workspace files, not the generated core itself.
Internally the project file begins with the ASCII keyword SET at the start (offset 0), and includes lines like SET DEVICEFAMILY, SET DESIGNENTRY, SET FLOWVENDOR, SET SPEEDGRADE, SET VERILOGSIM, SET VHDLSIM, SET BUSFORMAT, and SET PACKAGE; it also includes flags such as TRUE, FALSE, NOTRIPPED. These identifiers help external scripts or CORE Generator itself detect and parse the intended configuration.
Various apps that use files with this extension
These apps are known to open certain types of CGP files. Remember, different programs may use CGP files for different purposes, so you may need to try out a few of them to be able to open your specific file.
