CED File
What are CED files and how to open them
Are you having problems opening a CED file or are you simply curious about its contents? We're here to explain the properties of these files and provide you with software that can open or handle your CED files.
What is a CED file?
CED files have multiple uses, and JVC Video Data is one of them. Read more about the other uses further down the page.
JVC Video Data File
The CED file format was developed by JVC for their line of digital video cameras. This file format is used by the JVC recorder to store corrupted video data. These CED files are generated by the firmware of these JVC digital video recorders when there are issues with the memory card of the device. For example, if there is a problem with the memory card present in the JVC digital video recorder, then a .ced file will be created by the firmware of the device when users try to capture videos using the camera.
The raw video data that was recorded by the JVC camera is saved in a file with the .ced extension.
How to open CED files
Important: Different programs may use files with the CED file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your CED file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
While we have not verified the apps ourselves yet, our users have suggested eight different CED openers which you will find listed below.
