The CED file format was developed by JVC for their line of digital video cameras. This file format is used by the JVC recorder to store corrupted video data. These CED files are generated by the firmware of these JVC digital video recorders when there are issues with the memory card of the device. For example, if there is no memory card present in the JVC digital video recorder, then a .ced file will be created by the firmware of the device when users try to capture videos using the camera. The raw video data that was recorded by the JVC camera is saved in a file with the .ced extension.Since this is a proprietary file format that is used primarily by JVC for its digital video recorders, it's best to leave these CED files alone because there are no third party programs that can open these .ced files. However, there may be tools that can convert a .ced file to a more standard video format like .avi or .mp4 for post editing and production purposes.
