What are CCH files and how to open them

What is a CCH file?

A .CCH file is a CorelChart Chart file.

CorelChart Chart files store chart graphics and tables generated by Corel's CorelChart application, which was part of early versions of the CorelDRAW suite in the early 1990s. These are vector-based documents, meaning they represent shapes, lines, text and fills using mathematical descriptions rather than pixels, which enables scaling without loss of quality.

CorelChart created these chart files via its spreadsheet-type interface in order to generate graphics like bar charts, scatter plots, surface charts, and histogram-style visuals based on input data. Such files were meant to be edited or exported for publication or inclusion in other vector graphic documents. Because CorelChart is discontinued and many newer CorelDRAW versions no longer include direct support, opening or editing these files usually requires older versions of Corel software or converters that recognize the format.

Files begin with specific byte-level markers that identify them as CorelChart documents: for example, they may start with the ASCII signature "II*" at offset zero, include ".3DF" at offset seven, and contain various keyword strings like "VAMARKERSYMBOLS VARARRAY", "VARISERCOLORS VARARRAY" and "ENDCHART" among others.

How to open CCH files

Important: Different programs may use files with the CCH file extension for different purposes, so unless you are sure which format your CCH file is, you may need to try a few different programs.
