What is a BWG file?

A .BWG file is a BrainWave Generator file.

BrainWave Generator (.BWG) files are audio presets used by Noromaa Solutions' BrainWave Generator application to define binaural beat soundtracks that aim to influence mental states such as relaxation, meditation, focus, sleep, hypnosis or healing. The software lets users pick or build these sound compositions - including background noises, multiple voices, binaural frequencies - and save them in .BWG format for playback or adjustment later.

The BrainWave Generator program creates .BWG files as the default project or preset format. Users export these .BWG files when designing a binaural beat session. These files can later be opened, played, edited or converted (for example to .WAV) with the same program. Noromaa Solutions maintains a preset library in .BWG format on its website for user-submitted compositions covering categories like sleep, hypnosis, focus, unusual or experimental effects.

Internally, .BWG files begin with the ASCII sequence BrainWave Generator File, created with version at offset zero. This signature visibly identifies them as files made by BrainWave Generator software.
